In order to train Geography Teachers for secondary education institutions of the Ministry of National Education, the Department of Geography Teaching within the Atatürk Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education continued its activities with a 5-year curriculum between 1998 and 2014. Since this date, the education period is 4 years.

The Department of Geography Education enrolls 20 students in each academic year. It gave its first graduates at the end of 2001 - 2002 academic year.

The Department of Geography Education also conducts "master's" and "doctorate" programs in the Department of Geography Teaching within the Institute of Educational Sciences.

Our graduates can work as Geography Teachers in public and private schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.
